Thirty-three miles long, thirteen miles wide… the Isle of Man is little, but oh so big. Not only do the slower-moving vintage trams and trains turn a short trip into a wonderful journey, but there’s another facet which aids the illusion of big.
A prime example:

A street you may think, but no! Four streets!
Each side of the roadway has seperate street names, and is individually numbered 1, 2, etc.
And, at the intersection, each side starts again, with a new street name, and 1, 2 etc.
Further down this roadway there are traffic lights. At that intersection both sides become Broadway. But it’s a very short piece.
So that’s five street names, and just behind the photographer is another intersection….
But best of all, the Islanders themselves, with their big hearts and warm welcome.
Isle of Man, little but oh so big.
